Conditions commonly benefited through therapeutic massage includes headaches, TMJ Disorder, sciatica, frozen shoulder syndrome, lower back pain, whiplash, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscle spasms, insomnia, and muscle soreness to name a few. We are familiar with trigger point pain patterns and incorporate trigger point therapy into our massages as well.
Deep Tissue Massage is used to help alleviate chronic pain and tension. It uses direct and deep pressure to target problem areas and is helpful in stiff necks, back pain, or past injuries. Deep tissue is used to release deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Deep tissue is also good to help break up scar tissue and increase joint mobility.

Hot stone massage utilizes smooth basalt (lava) rocks heated in water between 120-150 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot stones can be placed on different areas of the body or used as a tool to assist the therapist in working on targeted problem areas. Hot stone massage can also be specifically used to promote relaxation. Benefits include: promoting deep muscle and tissue relaxation, alleviating stress, release of toxins, relieves pain, improves circulation, and calms the psyche. More specifically, health conditions that can be treated with hot stone massage include muscular aches and pains, arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety, circulatory problems, insomnia, and depression.

Reflexology is the ancient healing art of working the body's inner organs through the bottoms of the feet. Stimulating specific points on the feet promotes balance and equilibrium in the corresponding organ or body part. A reflexology session includes a ten-minute foot soak utilizing essential oils. Benefits include: Improved circulation, increased energy, pain reduction, profound relaxation, detoxification, improved glandular function, stress relief, ability to sustain a high level of productive activity, and overall sense of well being.
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT) is the most luxurious deep tissue massage available. The therapist utilizes their feet to administer smooth gliding strokes to relax, relieve muscle tension, and help improve circulation. Because the foot is a larger, broader surface, pressue is felt on a larger surface area than what can be experienced with the hand. Your therapist will administer this technique with clean soft feet while holding onto two overhead parallel bars for support. Many individuals report they will never go back to regular massage after trying this type of bodywork.

Thai Massage is an ancient healing modality dating back about 2,500 years. Although the true beginnings are unknown, it is believed to be developed by Buddhist monks with influences from the traditional medical systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia. Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor with the client wearing loose fitting clothes. (Something you would wear to the gym, or to a yoga class.) It is a series of compressions and yoga-like stretches, some even saying it is like having yoga done for you. This type of massage is great to increase range of motion, alleviate muscle and joint tension, and it helps balance the body’s energy systems. Thai massage will leave you feeling relaxed and energized.
