Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT)
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT) is the most luxurious deep tissue massage available. The therapist utilizes their feet to administer smooth gliding strokes to relax, relieve muscle tension, and help improve circulation. Because the foot is a larger, broader surface, pressure is felt on a larger surface area than what can be experienced with the hand. Your therapist will administer this technique with clean soft feet while holding onto two overhead parallel bars for support. Many individuals report they will never go back to regular massage after trying this type of bodywork.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep Tissue Massage is used to help alleviate chronic pain and tension. Your massage therapist utilizes a forearm or elbow throughout most of this type of bodywork to target problem areas. Deep tissue is typically a very slow-paced massage, and your therapist may stay on problem areas during much of the session. Although deep tissue is a subjective term, at Empowered Healing, we respect our client’s pain tolerance and never work outside of these limits.

Lomi Lomi
Lomi Lomi is a traditional technique with a long history in the Hawaiian and Polynesian islands focusing on long strokes that glide from one part of the body to the other using hands, forearms and elbows in a seamless fashion. This massage uses modest but minimal draping to ensure maximum fluidity of movement and to encourage a deep sense of relaxation.

manual lymph drainage (MLD)
MLD is a combination of relaxing, light pressure massage and deep breathing techniques that help promote the movement of lymphatic fluid out of swollen limbs, directing it through the correct channels and to the appropriate lymph nodes to help decrease swelling and encourage immune function. MLD does not address muscle issues; the lymphatic system rests above the muscles in the adipose tissue closer to the skin and using a gentle pressure is essential in correctly moving lymphatic fluid.

Himalayan Hot Stone
Himalayan hot stone massage utilizes himalayan stones heated between 120-150 degrees Fahrenheit.
